About the Piece

“It’s 1898, and little Lennie Mueller dreams of being a paddle steamer skipper just like his Mum.” This sweet, traditionally styled selection explores a tapestry of sounds heard as the steamer chugs along the Murray River. The Colonial Women’s showcase choir, Irish fisher ladies and Hungarian dredgers all feature in a miniature musical adventure.
