Tracing a rich musical history, the Maryborough Brass Band beginning its
life as the Junior Naval Band, was re-named Maryborough Federal Band
Queensland in 1919. Amalgamating with the Maryborough Senior Naval Band
in 1939, a further name change came in 1964 when the ensemble became
known as Walker’s Engineering Works Band. In 2005, the Maryborough
Brass Band became established. Reminiscent of the band marching through
its historic streets, MB 100 was commissioned to commemorate the
centenary celebrations of Maryborough Brass Band.
