Yamaha’s student F single horn is a great choice for every young student looking to play the French horn. Being a single horn, it lacks much of the tubing of a standard double French Horn, making it much lighter and more approachable for a young student. The bell throat is also smaller than double horns of a similar standard, suiting it to smaller hands. The YHR-314II comes with a small, beginner’s mouthpiece (32C4), and Yamaha hard case to keep it safe at school. All Yamaha instruments come with a 36 month manufacturer’s warranty.
The 314II single horn features a rich, warm tone, superb flexibility, an easy response, and accurate intonation balanced through the entire range. An Eb extension tuning slide is optionally available with this instrument. Using this slide, the player can perform music written for Eb horn without having to transpose
