The Yamaha 280 is a popular choice amongst beginner and intermediate level musicians. The 280 model has the comfort and durability of the standard student model but includes a couple of additional features seen on the higher level Yamaha instruments. The most notable feature is the high F# key, an additional key extending the note range of the instrument. The low B-C# mechanism has also been improved ensuring a clearer response in the lower range of the instrument. All Yamaha saxophones feature an adjustable thumb-rest to provide comfort and flexibility to musicians of all ages.
