Southern Folk March

Description

This happy march is written firmly in the British March tradition, and will challenge your band to keep the style light and jaunty. The work begins in Eb major and after the introduction of the theme, transitions to a more lyrical melody in a brief minor passage. In an unusual touch for a march, the dogfight section takes the main theme through a contrapuntal workout.
