From the composer:

“As a freelance French horn performer and brass teacher I decided to do something about the lack of fun and easy duets for beginning level players and have written 60 duets and compiled these in a book – ‘Duets from Aotearoa’. The New Zealand themed book is filled with pictures, notes/stories/facts and has 60 treble clef duets across 6 difficulty levels from super easy/first five notes to ABRSM/Trinity Grade 5 equivalent and beyond. Students are introduced to level appropriate key and time signatures as well as rhythms and range, but a wide range of dynamics, articulations and styles are introduced from the beginning. As the duets progress in difficulty extended techniques such as lip slurs, glissandos, hand stopping and bass clef are also introduced. (Alternative parts are written when the technique is horn specific).”
