Denis Wick Heritage Tenor Horn Mouthpiece – Gold Plated

$449.00

Description

The first Denis Wick mouthpieces were made in 1968, and range has grown so much, that it is now one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world. They are famous for their wonderful sound and brilliant designs, and are produced to the highest technical specifications.  Special attention is paid to the rims, which are both comfortable and consistent. Special techniques are used to produce beautiful and extremely hard-wearing silver and gold plating. Many mouthpieces are available in Heritage and Heavytop formats as well as in the Classic shape.

The innovation behind the Heritage Tenor Horn mouthpieces is the distribution of the mass. There is increased mass at the bottom of the cup and a thin cup wall and reduced weight behind the rim. The extra weight at the bottom of the cup helps provide power and projection, especially in the low register. The thinner cup walls help create an improved responsiveness at all dynamic levels. The result is a mouthpiece which is quick to respond and which brings out the upper partials in the sound, creating clear and brilliant high notes. The widest mouthpieces are also the most shallow and, conversely, the mouthpieces with the smallest cup diameters are the deepest. Heritage Tenor Horn mouthpieces will give a warm sound with plenty of ‘bloom’ in it, an easy high register and powerful low notes. The gold plated rim and cup give an ultra-smooth playing surface which is ideal for flexibility and for creating beautiful legato lines when playing.

The latest model Denis Wick Heritage mouthpieces are fully gold-plated.
