Description

Using three hymn tunes commonly used for singing the Christian doxology, the piece opens with a fanfare which leads into a mixed-meter arrangement of “All Creatures of our God and King.” “The Old 100th Psalm Tune” is developed and followed by the melody to “Thomas Tallis’ Canon”, which builds, layer upon layer, climaxing in a full ensemble chorale-like setting of the theme. The work concludes with a rousing Alleluia.
